The better you know your boat, the better the experience.
Antares University turns handover into practical confidence: systems orientation, docking and boat handling, maintenance habits, sailing practice, and owner community.
Two days of hands-on work. Five areas of focus.
Systems orientation
Walk the boat with someone who knows every system. Access, compartments, and the questions you didn't know to ask.
Handling practice
Docking, close-quarters maneuvering, and line handling under real conditions — not just theory.
Sailing and sail handling
Sail trim, reefing, sail changes, and getting comfortable with the rig. The boat under sail, with an instructor aboard.
Maintenance habits
Routine access, filter changes, inspection points, and the difference between a problem and normal wear.
Owner community
Spend the weekend with owners who've been doing this. The informal knowledge is often the most useful.
Three days in Argentina. Factory access, owner time, and a real feel for the place.
We organize small trips with current owners and prospective owners so they can see how Antares is built and spend time together outside the factory as well.
The rhythm is simple: factory tours, time around the city, historic sites, and a few classic Argentina experiences like polo or a tango dinner. It gives owners a better feel for the boats, the people behind them, and the culture around the trip.
What is included: factory tours and city touring are complimentary. Owners handle their own travel to and from Argentina. Optional activities such as polo or a tango dinner are usually extra.
The details most people ask about.
Quick answers on location, timing, cost, and who should come before you plan the weekend.
Where is Antares University located?
Classes are held in Merritt, North Carolina, in protected coastal waterways that provide real-world conditions for docking, maneuvering, and sailing practice.
How much does it cost?
The class is complementary for buyers purchasing a new or pre-owned Antares. For people still investigating whether an Antares fits their plans, we can arrange one-off sessions on a case-by-case basis.
How long is the class?
The class runs over a weekend. Owners fly in on Friday, spend Saturday and Sunday on the water and on board, and depart Sunday afternoon — two full days of hands-on work.
Who should attend?
New owners, co-owners, partners, and anyone who will be aboard and involved in running the boat. The class is designed so owners leave with real confidence, not just a checklist.
